Photo by Sabrina Byrnes Kraft to match Bread Basket donations Food bank experiences September drought LISA TALLYN Staff Writer Anyone who gives money to Georgetown Bread Basket through September 29 will have the chance to double their donation at no cost through the third annual Kraft Hunger Challenge. Kraft Canada will match donations up to a maximum of $30,000 across Ontario at participating food banks. The program aims to raise $60,000 or more in Ontario and $300,000 nationwide for food banks during this time of year when food banks across the country are experiencing dangerously low levels of supplies after the summer holidays. Area residents can make a donation online at www.cafb.ca or by mail, phone or in person at their local food bank. Town to transfer parcel of land for heliport obstacle light The Town of Halton Hills will transfer an easement parcel of land on Atwood Dr. at Poet's Path to Halton Healthcare Services for its new heliport obstacle light. No one attended a recent public meeting on the transfer. Neighbouring residents had already been informed last spring of the light's installation, which is now operational.
