Town committee approves community grants The Town of Halton Hills Community Affairs Committee approved municipal grants to a number of local groups. The Acton Seniors Centre received a $208 waiver of town fees for its spring walk-a-thon and the Acton Agricultural Society received $5,387 for its fall fair marketing, delivery of town equipment and waiver of Town fees. The Acton Fire Fighters Association received $695 for the waiving of facility fees and marketing and promotion (Canada Day fireworks) and the Glen Williams Town Hall Board received $1,757 for its Canada Day celebrations that included the waiving of facility fees, marketing and promo- tion and the loan of Town equipment. Requests for municipal assistance were denied to the Lions Club of Georgetown for $232 for the waiver of fees and to the Halton Hills Chapter of the Toronto Bruce Trail Club for $1,000 for the design and printing of a hiking trail brochure.
