Sponsors wanted for annual Cooking for a Cure event The annual Halton Hills LadiesCooking for a Cure event on behalf of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will be held Oct. 17, and organizers are looking for donations from companies to reduce the costs of hosting the event. The goal of the fifth annual dinner is to raise $20,000 and donations from companies, either monetary or in product, would help to bring them closer to that goal. In the past four years many local businesses have donated a variety of items including the venue, dishes, linen, flowers, food items, wine, bus transportation, silent auction items, product and ticket printing. Organizers are hoping for a similar response from businesses again this year. The annual dinner will be held at Rotary Glen Banquet Hall, which has donated their facilities for the evening, and it is expected more than 180 people will attend. The Halton Hills Ladies are the highest money earners in the KitchenAid Cook for a Cure program and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is amazed at the success of the event. Anyone who wants to contribute is asked to call Mary Lou Foreman at 905873-0301(w), or 905-873-6735(h), or Lisa Canning at 519-853-8116.
