Local men facing charges after parking space dispute Two Georgetown men were charged after a dispute over a parking space in the parking lot of a Sinclair Ave. medical building early Sunday morning. Police report two men became involved in an argument with a third man over the space. The two men became enraged and police say threatened the third man. Police were called, but by the time they arrived the two men were gone. They were arrested later that day. Police report the safe was taken from the scale house. The door was smashed to gain entry which activated an alarm. Equipment in the yard, including a front-end loader, was moved. The truck was driven through the gate and found abandoned a short time later on 17 Sideroad. The safe and cash were gone. Police searched the area but did not find anyone. Town to launch review of development charges The Town of Halton Hills will begin a review of its development charges. Development charges, which are levied on all new growth or expansion, help to offset the high cost of providing more town facilities and to keep tax rate increases for existing residents down. Provincial legislation mandates that municipalities' development charges bylaws must be reviewed every five years. The Town's current bylaw will expire in September 2007. Hemson Consulting Ltd will undertake the work for $50,000. Another $10,000 will be set aside for architect or engineering fees if cost estimates are needed for future capital projects. The money for the study will come from the Town's Development Charge Deferred Revenue reserve.
