Artists Among Us Show and Sale begins Tuesday Artists Among Us is a group of about 40 local artists working in many different media: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, pottery, fiber arts, stone carving, wire sculpture and more. Their annual art show will be held be held Tuesday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 26 in Halton Hills Library & Cultural Centre, 9 Church St., Georgetown. Look for pottery in raku, smoke fired, sagar, and electric fired sculpture in bronze, alabaster, clay, iron and wire, fiber arts in felting, wall hangings, papier maché, painting in watercolour, acrylic, oil and drawing, original printed material, glass, jewelry, photography and mixed media. The artists are from Halton Hills and the surrounding areas including Georgetown, Acton, Rockwood, Glen Williams, Hockley Valley, Guelph, Mississauga, Brampton, Fergus, Oakville, Milton, Burlington and Simcoe. "We are trying to showcase a wide variety of art forms from local artists who are excelling in their chosen art forms," stated an organizer. Artisans' Attic to hold art show to mark tenth anniversary The Artisans' Attic, an artists' co-operative, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new art show. Its 10 talented local artists are presenting their new original works of art to commemorate a decade of successful business. The public is invited to `Meet the Artists' on the opening night of the show, Friday Nov. 3, 7-9 p.m. The Artisans' Attic is located in downtown Georgetown, Ontario at 73 Main St. South. The store is brimming with original works of art ranging from: blown and stained glass, jewelery, functional and sculptural pottery, intricate weaving, papier maché and original paintings in watercolour, acrylic and pastel. There will also be an array of works from guest artists. Each gifted member of the Artisans' Attic has a long history in the arts and they bring their very best talents to this new show.
