The best voice in Ontario Madeleine Lake, 11, of Georgetown received a Silver Medal (the highest achievement) for placing first in Ontario on her Grade 1 Vocal examinations as awarded by the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. Madeleine received a score of 91% on her examinations, which entitled her First Class Honours with Distinction. She also scored First Class Honours in her Piano Examination. Madeleine is congratulated by her vocal coach D. Joyce Hutton of Brampton and Christopher Kowal, who is the Chief Examiner, Practical Subjects, RCM Examinations at the awards ceremony held at The Glenn Gould Studio and CBC Centre in Toronto earlier this month. Madeleine takes piano with local Georgetown teacher Ilsa Louw at Hi and Louw Keys Piano Studio and studies vocal under Hutton. Madeleine has also sung in the Georgetown Children's Chorus under A.
