WESTROPE, Shirley (nee Harper) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley, in her 7 5 t h y e a r, a t W i l l i a m O s l e r H e a l t h Centre on February 9, 2007 following a long and heroic struggle. Predeceased by her brother Fred Harper and sister Grace McNair. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen Westrope, granddaughter Amanda Mora-Westrope and son-in-law Allan Dunphy of Brampton, and her son Bob Westrope, granddaughter Genevieve Helstab-Westrope and daughter-in-law Susan Helstab of Toronto. Bor n and raised on Cherr y Street in Toronto before the war, Shirley lived life with scrappy for titude and trademark good humour. Her happiest memories were the years she raised her family in Georgetown, Ontario, and worked with her friends and co-workers at Anthes Business For ms in Brampton. Many thanks to her general practitioner, Dr. Jan Lusis and to the 4B, Surgical, CCU and ICU staff of William Osler Health Centre in Brampton. As in life, Shirley has asked that no 'fuss' be made over her death, and in respect of her wishes, no ser vice will be held. Following cremation, she will be interred at St. John Norway's Cemeter y in Toronto. Memorial donations may be made to The Lung Association. McLAUGHLIN, Colena It is with great sadness that the family of Colena McLaughlin announce her passing at the age of 90 years on February 11th, 2007 after a brief illness. Colena had recently relocated back to Edmonton with her daughter Mary to be closer to family. She will be lovingly missed by her two sons, Barry (Barb) McLaughlin of Boston, MA, Vern McLaughlin of Edmonton, daughter, Mary McLaughlin of Edmonton, grandson, Jordan McLaughlin, brother Howard (Helen) Pridham as well as numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Colena was predeceased by her husband, Jim, brothers, Lloyd and Edward and sisters, Mary, Ethel, Margaret, Francis, Edna and Damaris. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 16th, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Appel Funeral Home / Central Memorial Chapel, 10530 - 116 Street, Edmonton. Cremation to follow. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Society, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5H 4K1. A Memorial Service will be held in the springtime in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
