Photo by Ted Brown Police blotter Blowtorch sparks $90,000 fire Property damage is estimated at about $90,000 after a fire to a residence on 15 Sideroad Saturday was ignited by people using a blowtorch to thaw a frozen copper pipe. No one was injured. Nine vehicles from the Halton Hills Fire Department responded to the blaze, which spread quickly through the home, said Detective Piper honoured Callum Harper-Hill, 11, of Georgetown Pipe Band was recently honoured with the Champion Supreme Award from the Pipers and Pipe Band Society of Ontario (PPBSO), for his outstanding competition year. The black 2005 ASHW 812 trailer with a Ski Doo logo on its side worth $5,000 and a pair of 2003 Ski Doo REV 6000 snow machines at $10,000 were stolen. ··· A snowplow blade and its forks went missing from the rear of the Food Basics store on Guelph St. in Georgetown last weekend. Store employees discovered the theft Tuesday morning and had last seen the equipment Feb. 9. The eight-foot yellow plow blade and the black forks are valued at $4,900.
