The World Day of Prayer, sponsored by the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada, is an ecumenical celebration. This year's theme is United Under God's Tent (Unidas Bajo el Manto de Dios), written by the women of Paraguay. This theme connects to the idea that in Christ we are one body within God's sheltering tent, covered by God's protective cloak. To the women of Paraguay and particular those living in Santa Maria de Fe in the southern part of Paraguay, the poor live in base communities working together sharing their resources, leading to the creation of a crafts cooperative. All women and men are invited to join with the people from 170 countries around the world in this event of ecumenical prayer and solidarity.
