Donations wanted for Seniors Centre's yard sale FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Green Christmas! Snow for Easter! Seems like something is wrong with this picture. Hope everyone had a good holiday and the Easter Bunny was good to you all. Congratulations to Susan Williamson. She was the lucky winner of the beautiful Easter basket. On Tuesday, April 10, the April Shower luncheon was held. I wasn't able to attend but I bet you all had a good feed of spaghetti and salad. There is a possibility of starting a ceramics class at the Centre. If you are interested, or just curious, come out to see how it is done and give it a try. A demonstration class will be held on Monday, April 23, at 1 p.m. If there is enough interest ceramic classes will be held on Mondays, 1 to 3 p.m. Ladies, have you looked over your wardrobe for spring? Looking a little drab? Then come to the Geri Fashion Show to be held Monday, April 30 at 1 p.m. I'm certain you will find something to spruce it up and have some fun at the same time. Once more the men go to work cooking up pancakes and sausages for the famous All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast on April 21, 8-11 a.m. Tickets are adults $5, children (12 years and under) $3. Come out and enjoy a delicious breakfast and support the Georgetown Seniors Centre. The Band is practising hard to play for a Spring Fling Dance to be held May 5, 7:30-10 p.m. at a cost of $5 per person. Phone up some friends and come out for a night of dancing, draws, door prizes, refreshments, and fun, fun, fun! Doing your spring-cleaning? Consider donating those unwanted items to the Centre's Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, May 26, 8 a.m. to noon. PLEASE NO CLOTHING OR SHOES. All items for the Yard Sale can be dropped off at the Centre on Friday, May 25, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Help is also needed to price, set up, sell and clean up. Share in the good times! Acton Seniors sell pizza kits as latest fundraiser JULIE CONROY Acton Seniors Centre The latest newsletters are at the front desk. Please pick up one when you are in. The only ones labeled in the future will be the seniors' apartments on Elizabeth Dr. and Birchway. They have been hand delivered. If you are unable to get to the centre in the next week or so, maybe you could ask a member who lives near you to pick one up for you. The Evening Euchre will be held on April 18 at 7:15 p.m. The last Income Tax Clinic will be held on April 17. If you would like more information or to make an appointment phone Eileen Dix, 519-853-0493. The Irish Night was enjoyed by everyone who attended, and the winner of the 50/50 was Eileen Dix. The door prizes were won by Margaret MacLellan, Jack MacFarlane, Ida Gordon, Nina Palichuk, and Billie Idzi. We had a great time singing many of the old Irish songs accompanied by Joan on the piano and Hector Guay on the fiddle. Hector also entertained with some jokes and magic tricks. The next social dinner will be on Friday, April 20 and will have a spring theme. Salad, ham, scalloped potatoes and of course dessert. You should get your ticket early as Victor has to have an early cut off date in case he needs to cancel the larage hall. Do you ever have unexpected guests pop in for supper? Joanne has the answer to your problems. The Centre is selling kits so you can surprise your guests with a delicious Llittle Caesars pizza. They supply everything you need and there are five different kits. So simple even the grandchildren can help you make them. Rama winners on the March 28 trip were Inga Britt, 50/50; Norm (from Georgetown) birthday prizes and lucky window seats Mark Carr, Lillian Chapman, Eric Heptner, Beryl Clegg, June Gilson, Lou Lafrombois and Sylvia Burk. The next Rama trip will be on Wednesday, April 25th. If you would like to go in future, please sign the sheet requesting our own bus and then we will have lots of space for everyone and no one will be disappointed. If you are interested in hiking, the group will start at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13. Fifteen members enjoyed a beautiful spring afternoon when they were hiking at Rockwood last Friday. The trip to St. Lawrence Market on April 19 will cost $12 and the money must be paid by April 12. When you pay your money please make sure to get a copy of the receipt from the cash register as that will be your ticket for the bus. Carmen has volunteered to phone everyone and give them all the information.
