Independent & Free Press, Wednesday, May 9, 2007 9 Georgetown man charged with fraud and forgery The former director of hockey operations for the Georgetown Junior A Raiders has been charged by York Regional Police with defrauding a Vaughan company of $172,000 after claiming he held the rights to sell Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game premium seats. Peter Mavroudis, 49, of Georgetown is charged with fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000, three counts of forgery and uttering forged documents. Police say the fraud occurred between August 2006 and February 2007. Police report the accused operated a Whitby company called Prime Ticket Connection. Police say the victim, a Vaughan company president, was told Prime Ticket Connection had the rights to sell the seats. The victim then turned over $172,000 to the accused to purchase seats. The tickets never came and the fraud was reported to police. Investigation revealed the actual seats that were sold to the Vaughan company were owned by a prominent Toronto accounting firm and its executives had no intention of selling the seats. Police are still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call York Regional Police Central Fraud Bureau at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7114. PRE-OWNED SUPER SAVINGS! 2006 Fusion SEL LOADED.
