The Halton Hills Minor Lacrosse Association had eight players chosen to play for Team Ontario after the three-stage selection process was completed last month-- two for the peewees (11-12 yrs.) and six bantams (1314 yrs.). It's the largest contingent from any one minor organization in the province and for five of the bantam players, they'll be making their return to the week-long Canadian championship tournament. Steven Janes, Michael MacDonald, Jayson Crawford, Justin Rasmussen and Dustin Hanzelka were members of the 2005 national champs from Team Ontario, with the latter named tournament MVP. Jordan Dance joins the quintet on this year's squad. For the peewee age group, about 140 players initially tried out for one of 20 spots on the provincial team and two Bulldogs who have won Ontario championship in their careers, Liam Clare and Jacob Harris, made the final roster. The peewees will be coached by Derek Keenan of the National Lacrosse League's Portland Lumberjax.
