The events will be held in Glen Williams Park and Prospect Park in Acton. Bluesy rock group Max Bent Band, one of Canada's hottest stage bands, will perform live during a free concert following the 1 p.m. opening ceremonies at the Glen Ball Park Gazebo. Also performing will be three talented Canadian singer songwriters-- Ambre McLean, Kent McMillan and AMBRE Keith Thompson. McLEAN McLean started recording at the age of eight, had her first radio rotation at the age of 15 and has several CDs and EPs under her belt. Also performing will be Kent McMillan, who as part of the band Max Bent, brings the blues to western Ontario. Keith Thompson, a singer songwriter born in Belfast, Ireland who now lives in Guelph, has performed and opened for a wide range of bands and performers. He started his solo career in 1992 and released his first CD in 2001. Thompson will be the show opener at approximately 1:30 p.m. Entertainers will perform through 4:30 p.m. Along with the entertainment on the stage, there will be lots of activities for the whole family at the Glen Williams Canada Day celebration. The day will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. A 5 Km Fun Run will get under way at 9 a.m., and the baseball game is set for 10 a.m.. The children will find lots to do at the playground from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. including a pony shoe tournament starting every hour on the back ball diamond and there will also be free face painting by the Georgetown Little Theatre Youth Company.
