Ages 3 to 6 Small Classes Reading | Writing | Math | Fun Confidence & Motivation Cognitive Development Reading | Writing | Math | Spelling | French | Study Skills Second Diversity Day planned for Saturday In an effort to welcome people of different backgrounds to the community, Peer Outreach Support Services and Education (POSSE) is hosting its second Welcoming Diversity Day Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. The day is the inspiration of a group of youth involved with POSSE Project in north Halton. "We believe everyone has the right to feel safe in our community regardless of age, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, class, sub-culture or abilities. The event will begin at Remembrance Park with opening remarks by Regional Chair Gary Carr, followed by flag raisings and a march down the sidewalk of Main St. to Cedarvale Park where there will be entertainment and food. The march route will be from Remembrance Park down James St. to Main St., across Maple Ave. to Cedarvale Park. Participants are required to stay on the sidewalk. People are encouraged to bring flags of various countries or the Pride flag, as well as signs supporting human rights issues. Food and entertainment at Cedarvale Park will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. and will include Habeeba Hobeika Egyptian Dancing, Chris Golden, Skill Shine Dubs and Cassava - Latin Salsa. Children's entertainment from 3 to 6 p.m. will include a Birds of Prey and Reptile Display and face painting. Everyone is encouraged to park their cars at Cedarvale Park and walk to Remembrance Park.
