Actually, the mascot was designed by Steve Nease, the Beaver‘s artistic director, for the waterâ€" front festival Coloring contest winners are: Rhyse Dodd, 5 and under; Kailak Krayewski, 6 to 8; and Chantel Kondracki, 9 to 11. The winners receive family "I‘ve got this brand new phone system where children can call in 24 hours a day and register their votes for the name they think suits you best. You should have your name in about a week." Who is he, and where did he come from from? Last November, a sixâ€"foot furry creature appeared in the Oakville Santa Claus Parade. He was a big hit with the kids, so big, that more than 300 children entered a coloring contest he was promoting. But, one problem remains. He has no name. The kids who entered the coloring contest were also asked to name him, but picking from over 300 names is pretty tough for the new guy in town. But, he‘s settled on four suggestions: Jake from the Lake, Rudder, Elliot and Seamore. But, who chooses their own name? Nobody. The blue creature covered with polka dots has, since coming to Oakville, already met a friend who said "I can help you get a name." That friend is The Beaver. I‘m sure that after one month of having their mother home, they will pool their piggy banks and buy me a restaurant. Café Galleria could not have been a success if it had not been for support given by the Oakville community who over the years have become dear friends not just customers.
