This features 41 framed works on paper and three sculptural pieces. The artist employs images from a variety of sources such as magaâ€" zines and photographs then isolates and recomâ€" bines them using scissors, glue and color photoâ€" copies. "Simulacra" (something made to resemâ€" ble some other thing) represents Kasperbauer‘s effort to allow both himself and his viewers to connect with the world of dreams and myth. Over the past decade Kasperbauer has been involved in many aspects of media production, including editing, researching and writing for Trek. This includes Next Generation updates, Deep Space Nine, The Undiscovered Country, technicals, British, American and Canadian television netâ€" works. His work has been displayed in group exhibitions from the UK and Canada to Sweden and Japan. (He earned a Merit Award at the 8th Tokyo Video Festival.) In 1988 Kasperbauer moved to town and a year later participated in the Oakvilleâ€"Neyagawa Art Exchange. "Simulacra: Myths From the Penultimate Future" marks his first Canadian solo exhibition.
