David Dunn‘s thirdâ€"period score lifted Oakville Sovereign Life Rangers to 3â€"2 win over Dundas in Triâ€"County League peewee action. The win upped the Rangers‘ record to 16â€" 6â€"2. Glen Kwon and Kent Wallace had the other Ranger tallies. Wallace, Brandon Gale, Jordan Zacny and Jeff Elia notched helpers. In earlier action, the Rangers blanked Burlington 3â€"0, topped Orangeville 5â€"2, and blasted Chinguacousy twice, 10â€"1 and 10â€"2. Peter Zambosco recorded the shutout. David Van De Laar (2) and Wallace scored against Burlington. Joey Renella, Brent Moyer, Ryan Laughlin, Gale and Wallace talâ€" lied against Orangeville. Rob Donio and Wallace led the assault in the 10â€"1 win with hatâ€"tricks Kevin Gibbons, Dunn, Renella and Gale tallied singles. Gale led the way in the second romp with a hatâ€" trick. Dunn (2), Gilmore (2), Renella, Pink and Laughlin had the other scores. Gale, Wallace and Craig Gilmore each totalled five assists, Dunn four, Laughlin three, Dunn, Zacny, David Pink and Van De Laar two. Oakville Hornettes captured the Scarborough Novice Girls Hockey Tournament with a 2â€"1 decision over Cobourg in the title game. Tournament most valuable player Davina Morris and Diana Matheson scored for the locals. Assists went to Tiffany White, Jackie Kendrick and Amelia May. In earlier games, the Hornettes blanked Scarborough Sharks 4â€"0, tied Cobourg 3â€"3 and doubled Barrie 6â€"3. Matheson (2), Hailey Springay and Morris scored against Scarborough. â€" Leanna Simchison recorded the shutout. Morris had all three goals against Cobourg and four more against Barrie (Katie Monkman and Matheson notched singles)..
