Oakville Beaver Weekend, Sunday, February 7, 1993 â€" 22 OAKVILLE SOCCER CLUB INC. CAKVILLE ¢ tE Socerp a Buromg u./ * CLUB : ONg H4UuNopep Becember 9, 1992 Dear Fellow Parent Supporter of Soccer in Oakville: I write first, as a parent, secondly, as a community leader concerning the Oakville Soccer Club. My sons David and Robert, had the opportunity to play house league soccer between 1977 and 1990. The incredible team of volunteers and coâ€"ordinators, who together form the Oakville Soccer Coub made this experience possible. These volunteers have achieved "the Club" that is the envy of many communities across Canada and into the States. Annually, 3,700 children play soccer in Oakville. However, the season is short because of the long Canadian winters and disadvantages the children and young people who wish to pursue their soccer achievements yearâ€" round. The Oakville Soccer Club have a dream, one they wish to involve you in realizing. The Town of Oakville has approved, in principle, the construction of a yearâ€"round facility within Shell Park. The Club needs your help in raising the funds to make this building a reality. I am pleased to invite you to join my family in contributing $100 or whatever you can afford, towards this capital project. With the countless children who have played soccer in the last twenty years, if even 50% of their families can match, exceed or donate something, a significant start will have been made. . Take a moment to consider all the benefits your son and/or daughter have received from their soccer experience courtesy of the Oakville Soccer Club and then write the cheque to show your support for this project. Thank you. Yours very sincerely, Ann Mulvale, MAYOR, TOWN OF OAKVILLE AM/ds r----------â€"--------------------------------1
