The Georgetown Choral Society accompanies the OSO April 17 and 18 in "Glorious Voices." May 22 and 23 it‘s "Great Classics." O So Silver anniversary St. Jude‘s "Celebration of the Arts" series continues Saturday when the John Laing Singers team with soprano Janet Obermeyer and bassâ€"baritone James Bechtel. Janet Obermeyer‘s repertoire ranges from Mozart to Grieg while James Bechtel‘s program includes Vaughan Williams and Copeland. The two singers will also appear in duet. The evening ends with some folk songs. During the 8 p.m. concert the 26â€" voice John Laing Singers will perâ€" form works by Renaissance to conâ€" temporary composers. St. Jude‘s Celebration of the Arts "Celebration of the Arts" comes to its conclusion on Saturday, May 29 1993 with the St. Jude‘s Choir and Orchestra performing Handel coronation anthems. The series is the second annual such celebration bringing some of Canada‘s finest musicians to town to perform four shows in the beautiâ€" ful setting of St. Jude‘s Anglican Church.
