To introduce the lnterCoastal project to the public, IPL and its consultants, Ecological Services for Planning Ltd., will be conducting Information Open Houses at five locations along the proposed InterCoastal route, as follows: PUBLIC INFORMATION OPEN HOUSES In April, 1993 IPL plans to apply to the National Energy Board (NEB) for approval of this project. lnterprovincial Pipe Line System Inc. of Edmonton, Alberta and ANR Pipeline Company Inc. of Detroit, Michigan (ANR) have jointly undertaken to develop a new natural gas transportation system in Ontario and Michigan, to be known as the InterCoastal Pipe Line project. The Canadian portion of the proposed project consists of: construction of an underground crossing of the St. Clair River to connect with a new 18 km pipeline from ANR in Michigan; construction of approximately 18 km of new pipeline from the St. Clair R. to the lnterprovincial Pipe Line Inc. (IPL) Sarnia Terminal; conversion of approximately 242 km of existing oil pipeline to natural gas transmission service, from Sarnia'to Oakville, ON; future construction of a compressor station in the vicinity of Medina, northeast of London, ON; _ construction of pressure regulating facilities at the lPL-Sarnia Terminal and on the outskirts of Burlington, ON'; construction of a metering facility in Milton, ON.
