Speaking about Toys is rewarding for Nigel Grade 7 St. Ann’s student Nigel Flynn won the Oakville (East) Division in the Halton Roman Catholic School Board’s board-wide public speaking competition for his speech on “Toys.” Tlie competitions were held in ‘March and April and saw winners named in four categories - Oakville; Burlington, north Halton and secondary. Winning students will be presenting their speech- es to separate school board trustees at the April 27th board meeting in Burlington. Matthew Demeter, Grade 8 of Canadian Martyrs School won the Burlington division for his speech on “Being Twelve in the 905.” Grzide 8 student Nicole Lee, of St Joseph School in Acton won the North Halton division for a speech on “Manners.” The secondary division boasted two winners, Brad Rafauli, a Grade 12 Assumption Secondary School on the topic of “Babies” and Grade 9 student Janet Clay, on “Impatience." 849-4443
