JOHN‘S UNITED "The increase in applications is being experienced at all community colleges across Ontario, not just here at Sheridan," said Rodney Gilchrist, a communications officer at Sheridan. "I believe the increase is due to the preâ€" sent economic situation. If you can‘t find work, the next best thing to do would be to attend school to upgrade your employable skills." Gilchrist also feels there is no need to increase the amount of available last year. Sign of the times TRAFALGAR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 354 Upper Middle Rd. at Trafalgar. "If we‘re going to accept 600 more students, there‘s no question that it will pose a problem. This year, the attrition rate of first year students was approximately 30%, and there‘s is no doubt that attrition will increase if stuâ€" dents don‘t feel that they are getting the education they paid for," said Richard Anderson, Interâ€"Campus Student Council Activities Programmer. "Unless the college invests some money for more equipment, I see more problems with meeting the students needs in this regard," said Leece. Oakville Student Administrative Council President Sandra Leece, agrees with Gilchrist about space and faculty availability, but has concerns regarding the technical needs of the students. Nursery for Infants Care for Toddlers Church School space or the number of faculty and supâ€" port staff to accomodate the increase in students. "It‘s really a matter of utilizâ€" ing space and time properly, I really can‘t see it posing a problem."
