The break-in happened during the evening hours when a rear window to the home was forced open. njoye By SAL BOMMARITO Oak ville Beaver Staff Oakville's short-term servicing problem should be solved in about four months, planning and development council was told Monday night. That's when Halton Region is expected to complete work on a water connection between Oakville and Burlington which will cross Bronte Creek in the vicinity of Rebecca Street. The $3.27 million project will begin some time this month, Once the water connection has been completed, the town will have enough water supply for an additional 11,000 people. However, wastewa- ter capacity for the Phase 2 area in northwest Oakville won't be resolved until the mid-Halton wastewater treatment plant expansion occurs, proba- bly some time in 1995. _ No development - apart from Phase 1 areas of Glen Abbey, River Oaks and Iroquois Ridge North and approximately 2,500 units in Phase 2 - can occur until the wastewater treatment plant is expanded. An environmental study has been completed for the expansion. However, the region is in the preliminary stages of discussions with devel-, opers to arrange financing for the plant, which will likely be funded through development charges. The region has said no agreements would be signed until an acceptable resolution has been reached to the appeal of Hilton's development charges bylaw by the Development Charges Coalition. Once financing is in place, it's anticipated construction of the expansion would take up to two years and cost approximately $l3-million. The town currently has capacity to accommodate the development of 4.000 new residential units - which translates into capacity for more than 13,000 people - by I994. Halton has also informed the town it can accom-' modal: additional development for 1,860 people, or 30 hectares of indus- trial/commercial land, beyond the servicing commitments currently in would hectares of Advunu 'ments, that they not be automaticall The Oakville Southwest Plant is ould allow for the development of K e Oakville Christian School is a private, non-denominational elementary school which is presently enjoying its eleventh year of providing academic excellence to the Oakville community.
