Oakville Beaver Weekend, Sunday, June 13, 1993 â€" 22 fravel with Cruise Holidays Sponsored by Cruise Holidays 7 NGHT WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE d Cdn. s cludin Cruising with kids? Check out programs first ast week, we presented an I outline of a typical activiâ€" ties program of a "dayâ€"atâ€" sea" for adults. Let‘s take a look at the programs offered for chilâ€" dren. Not all cruise lines offer chilâ€" dren‘s programs. â€"Carnival, Premier, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Royal Caribbean should be considered when choosing a cruise for the whole family. You may also expect the chilâ€" dren‘s programs to be expanded during traditional school breaks (Christmas and March break) and summer vacations. The cruise lines organize their children‘s programs by age groups â€" 3 to 5 years, 6 to 9 years, preâ€"teens, and teens. On Carnival, their first proâ€" gram is for children aged 4 to 7. On those days that you are visitâ€" ing a portâ€"ofâ€"call, only a miniâ€" mum program is offered in the evening along with the preâ€" arranged babyâ€"sitting service. (Book by 5 p.m. each day and there is a charge). On daysâ€"atâ€"sea, the program is extensive and runs morning, afterâ€" noon, and evenings. Children usuâ€" ally rejoin their parents at meals. Let‘s review the 4 to 7 ages program for a dayâ€"atâ€"sea. It is Friday, the last dayâ€"atâ€"sea before returning to Miami. (This agenda from Carnival‘s holiday June 4th, 1993). The program starts at ... 10 a.m. in the Playroom. 10 to 10:30 a.m. â€" showâ€"andâ€"tell time, bring your souvenirs; 10:30 to 11 a.m. â€" a ship drawing contest; 11 to 11:30 a.m. â€" (balloonatics and QEW AT WINSTON CHURCHIU. BLVD. aem 855â€"78 17 kE popsicle sticks (creative arts); 11:30 a.m. to noon â€" blocktime (?). Break for lunch. In the afternoon ... 2 to 2:30 p.m. â€" a talent show, let‘s see what you can do; 2:30 to 3 p.m. â€" playâ€"doh sculptures, what can you make?; 3 to 3:30 p.m. â€" a Bridge Tour; 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. in the Wharf Bar and Grill â€" an ice cream eating contest (no hands please!). Back to your folks, perhaps a swim and then dinner. Later this group will have a farewell party iCBRUISERA. _ _ YHOLIDAYS P‘ s Invites you to CRUISE NIGHT CZ. PRINCESS CRUISES It‘s more than a cruise, it‘s the Love Boat.® in the Disco from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Preâ€"arranged babyâ€"sitting begins at 8:30 p.m. so that Mom and Dad have the evening free. At all ages, the children love the programs. Combine the orgaâ€" nized programs with the advenâ€" ture of the ship and the new friends that they make; you have the ingredients for one fabulous vacation! Each of the age groups have programs structured accordingly. The older the groups, the less structured the programs and then the ships facilities â€" pools, sports decks, and the disco become the meeting places. There are curfews in certain facilities (such as the disco) in the evenings so that adult passengers have their times, too. One of the big challenges for the teens is to sneak into the casiâ€" no (which is offâ€"limits) and play the slot machines. Premier Cruise Lines has a program that caters to one of the youngest groups, ages 2 to 4. Their programs have a strong Disney theme as they are "The Official Cruise Line of Walt Disney World". Royal Caribbean has children‘s programs for ages 5 to teens and Norwegian Cruise Lines for ages 3 to teens. Within 24 hours of arrival, most children know the ship‘s layout perfectly, have made a number of new friends, have little time for Mom and Dad, and are having the best vacation of their lives!
