The Oakville woman testified that on the Victoria Day weekend, her son convinced her to allow her estranged husband to stay over in the downstairs of her home, since he‘d just been released from jail. The evening hours passed uneventâ€" fully and the woman fell asleep in her bed after reading until 1 a.m. Some time later, around 3 a.m., the man entered the woman‘s room, sat on the bed, spoke to her about why she was not having contact with him, then straddled her and began punching her on the shoulders and about the head. The couple‘s children, a boy and girl, ran in and it was threatened the police would be called. The woman said her husband got off her but a teleâ€" phone was broken by the son who didn‘t want police called. The woman‘s daughter then drove her mother to the police station. Around 6 a.m., police went to the home to arrest the man. "You‘ve dishonored Canada. You‘ve dishonored the Canadian peoâ€" ple and the Canadian justice system," the man told Robinson while being led away after sentencing. The man, who often addressed the general public in the courtroom instead of the judge, repeatedly asked his wife inappropriate questions about her whereabouts and visitors to her home during his cross examination. ""Where did you sleep last night?" he queried at least twice. "Have you been out of the counâ€" try?" he asked. The man called the charge of assault "a contrived charge of assault." He said it was interference by the Halton Regional Police and often quoted religious terms. He admitted he had a "quiet disagreement" with his wife and said it was a family matâ€" ter and belonged in a family court, not Solid Cherry Bedroom Suite 1399 Includes: triple dresser, landscape mirror, low port headboard chest on chest. He made allegations about the police and asked his wife if she‘d ever seen any of Halton‘s judges or anyone in the court room in her home before. "I am the Lamb of God and I am treated like I am an awful predator by the soâ€"called judicial system in Ontario," he said at one point. With his arm on the wall of the prisoner‘s box and one leg on a chair, the man asked, "Is it legal logic for somebody who wanted to assault his wife to do so after he had been in the house for six hours? "When I went to speak to my wife, I specifically told her not to call the police because the police are very felonious people," the man told Robinson. He spoke of how he passively stood by watching his powerful, 21â€" yearâ€"old son punch holes in the walls like George Foreman. Referring to the "Ministry of Justice or Injustice", the man told court he‘d written to Kim Campbell, Brian Mulroney and spoken to Bob Rae on the telephone. The man‘s prime line of defence was that his wife went to the police station shortly after 3 a.m. and the police didn‘t arrive to charge him until approximately 6 a.m.. He said he didn‘t believe it possible under the Criminal Code for the time lag to occur and for him to be charged withâ€" out his wife present at the time. "The time factor is the main thing. How could the police charge me with assault if you were not there?" the man asked his wife of 24 years. Asked to confirm his criminal record that included a charge of assault and mischief, the man said "the whole record is a contrived charge." Upon sentencing, the man was ordered not to have any contact with his estranged wife without her conâ€" Sofa 799 Quality checklist: iÂ¥ Eightway handtied coil springs Â¥ Builtâ€"in leg construction Joints, double dowelled corner blocks 420 Fairview sa (beside Harvey‘s) "U7 $J912M I«qmddv
