Committee to address Waterfront Festival concerns The â€"Community â€" Services Committee had convened to decide when select parking restrictions in the Bronte and Coronation Park areas would be enforced. After input from / Our customers save up to 50% over other methods / No digging inside or outside / Finished or unfinished basement / Licensed, bonded, insured / Transferable lifetime guarantee / VISA MasterCard accepted angry residents, however, its members realized that a broader range of issues needed to be addressed. Savoy Crescent homeowner Arleen Reinsborough explained that following the June 26th Waterfront féstivities in Coronation Park she found her lawn strewn with garbage, soiled clothing, beer bottles and even a used condom. Some residents did not want parkâ€" ing, period, on residential streets durâ€" ing the threeâ€"day fest and suggested a parking lot in Coronation Park be conâ€" structed. Parks and Recreation director Bob Perkins said his department in no way endorses this measure. Other homeowners felt the festival was simply too large for Coronation and said it was better suited for a fairâ€" ground. Perkins said> that. the Waterfront Festival‘s very name limitâ€" ed potential locations. As for the issue which was the catâ€" alyst for all the secondary complaints, the Committee voted in favor of parkâ€" ing prohibition signing on a per event basis. As a result, parking will be perâ€" mitted only on one side of residential streets in the area bordered by the Fourteen Mile Creek, Mississaga Street, Rebecca Street and Lake Ontario. The Community â€" Services Committee voted in favor of a motion by Ward 2 councillor Kathy Graham to refer the various issues to the Waterfront Festival‘s Security Committee which would work with residents to seek solutions.
