To learn more about the Oakville Fibrocitis Support Group, call Witt at 847 8787. "As far as I know, there are only three books out to help people with this disease," she said. "You don‘t die from it but you feel alot better with exercise." Since there is scant information available for people with fibromyalâ€" gia (formerly known as fibrocitis and not classed as chronic fatigue syndrome), Witt thought the video would be an invaluable tool. f The idea for the video came from Julie Thomson, supervisor of the hospital‘s fibrocitis program, who was answering a need expressed by one participant wantâ€" ing followâ€"up at home to the light aerobics and stretching exercises undertaken in the program. Thomson approached the physioâ€" therapy department who worked with the hospital to produce it through Oakville Cablenet. There‘s good news for people suffering from fibromyalgia. They can feel better by exercising at home with the help of a "firstâ€"ofâ€"itsâ€" kind" video recently produced by the hospital‘s physiotherapy departâ€" ment. Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, in coâ€"operation with its charitable corporation, put up the money for the video‘s production costs along with "a couple of priâ€" vate donors," according to Faith Witt, a member of the Oakville Fibrocitis Support Group who is helping to promote the video. Bronte Creek To recoup the estimated $3,000 in production expenses, the video will be sold at a cost of around $20. ‘for the birds‘ July 14, 1993
