The Mancusos say the most disappointing part of the whole thing is their son completed his first season of organized hockey this past winter and with other kids receiving trophies for other feats, winning one would have been nice. "When a kid sees other guys on the team get trophies, he‘d like to get one too," Peter said. "I‘m disappointed they (Optimists) haven‘t come through." One couple Peter and Lynn Mancuso, say their son Mario, 7, was supâ€" poscd to receive a trophy for coâ€"winning the hockey skills for his age group in the Optimists‘ Annual Triâ€"Star Skills Competition during the March break. But to date, the only recognition he‘s received, according to Lynn Mancuso, is his name mentioned in the Oakville Beaver. After his son won, Peter Mancuso said he was told by the Optimists that the family would be notified when the trophies were ready. In April, he said he called and was told the trophies weren‘t ready yet and he would be informed when they were. Five months later, Mario is still waiting. Competition organizer Don MacDonald was apologetic about the lateâ€" ness when reached late yesterday afternoon. He said he forgot to pick up the trophies after taking in the list of winners, adding they will be delivered by the end of August. "They‘ll be delivered sometime in about three weeks to a month," MacDonald said. "I completely forgot about them to be perfectly honest with you. "I‘ m leaving nght now for two weeks but as soon as I get back I‘m plck- ing them up and we‘re going to deliver them all."
