George Dekleer, project officer with the Peel Board of Education, said the number of employees visiting the trailer is increasing with about 20 comâ€" ing in that day. He said employees using it are usually of two types: some of them know what jobs they want but need more information about them; others don‘t know what they want and have to explore various careers. "We‘ve had six people calling up today to enquire," said Smallwood. Inside the trailer, Miller can peruse many reference books listing firms that might need his expertise. Or he can punch up on its computers more inforâ€" mation on jobs. | "Many of them are interested in training and upgrading and 142 employees have asked about setting up a small business," said Dekleer. To meet this obvious interest, a small business seminar will be held at the, plant shortly, added Smallwood. However, the trailer is only one part of a strategy to get as many Mack employees as possible into other jobs. Set up by the Oakville/Milton Canada Employment Centre, it gives workers ready access to whatever CEC listings are available in its centres. But there is a more direct third way.
