The CRTC package specifies a leaner basic cable service with the CBC, CTV and Global, the three major U.S. networks and PBS only, included. Everything else would cost more, how much more is yet to be determined and depends on what subâ€" scribers buy and how Cablenet packâ€" ages and prices these specialty chanâ€" packages or not depends on the chanâ€" nels themselves, explains Jeffery. "We won‘t be permitted to remove any channel from the basic service without the networks‘ permission." As well as studying at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Andras Weder, Starkey recently took a week of masâ€" ter classes with master cellist Janos Starker in Quebec. Anything that gives the consumer more choice in what he wants to watch, is great," says Jeffery. The CRTC is currently accepting applications for additional Canadian speciality channels such as Health and Lifetime (for seniors). Hearings on these services will be held in the fall and decisions on their acceptance will be made shortly thereafter.
