Natural Law Party candidate would cure country‘s ills through the power of meditation BY ROD JERRED Oakville Beaver Staff k _ sixth candidate offering prosâ€" A perity and happiness to E S.Canadians through a governâ€" ment run by the natural laws of the universe has entered the Oct.25th election campaign in the Oakvilleâ€" Milton riding. Harry Bright, 42, an Oakvilleâ€" Trafalgar High School graduate and currently the director of admissions for the Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa, is running in Oakvilleâ€"Milton under the banner of the Natural Law Party of Canada. An officially registered party, Bright says the Natural Law Party of Canada is running 227 candidates in the Oct. 25th federal election. The party‘s national leader is Neil Patterson, who is running in an Ottawa riding. Perhaps the party‘s most wellâ€"known candidate is another OT graduate, illusionist Doug Henning, who is running in the Henning, who is running in the Rosedale riding. "We are the fourth biggest party in the country," states Bright. Bright, a former radio broadcaster in Owen Sound and Ottawa, says his party‘s first action as an elected govâ€" ernment would beâ€"to establish "A Group of Government" â€" 10,000 people who will practice Maharishi‘s Yogic Flying. The purpose would be to create a powerful influence of positivity and harmony throughout the nation, said Bright. "This group will create the basis on which all of our other programs will be realizable," said Bright. "As long as there is a high level of stress and turbulence in national consciousâ€" ness, problems will abound in every field of life and government will be weak and ineffective. An integrated and unified national consciousness will be the basis of an integrated and successful government." Bright said the "Group of Government" program was demonâ€" strated this summer in Washington D.C. when 3,800 Yogic Flyers assemâ€" bled together. He claims there was a significant drop in the area‘s crime rate and President Clinton and Congress were suddenly more successful. Bright says when people practice Maharishi‘s Transcendental Meditation and TMâ€"Sidhi program together, including the Yogic Flying technique, they enliven the Unified Field of Natural Law â€" the Constitution of the Universe â€" in their own awareness and in society. "When cohesiveness is created all else will come to fruition," said Bright. The Natural Law Party‘s other poliâ€" cies include: Q Abolish GST immediately. Q Reduce disease by 50% within three years through preventionâ€"orientâ€" ed natural health care. The Natural Law Party would also establish an allâ€"party government bringing together the best minds and ideas of all parties. "A good idea is not the domain of one party," said Bright. Q Reduce crime dramatically by eliminating its basisâ€"stress in the indiâ€" vidual and society. Promote pollutionâ€"free industries, transportation, energy, and agriculture. Q Introduce into education the study of consciousness to develop higher consciousness, so that everyone lives in perfect harmony with Natural Q Eliminate the national deficit in three years and reduce â€"taxes by elimiâ€" nating problems, simplifying national administration, and creating sustained economic growth. "You can‘t tax away the deficit," said Bright. "You have to eliminate the basis of the deficit which are the probâ€" lems in society." Bright sees his party has the only real alternative in the election. "We don‘t want our fellow Canadians to continue through the trials and errors of government unaided by higher intelliâ€" gence," _ said Bright. We don‘t want to remain a sinking ship." The Natural Law Party of C anada‘s Oakvilleâ€"Milton riding office teleâ€" phone number is 8$45â€"9886. Harry Bright
