The Clarks were among 885 visitors to the site to collect leaf compost on Sept. 5th. A second give-away last Saturday saw 1,024 visitors. Removed were three 200-ft windrows of leaf compost measuring 10 feet wide and about 8 ft high. The free leaf compost give-away is a public relations gesture from the town thanking residents for their participation in the leaf composting program, says Mark Jones, solid waste manag- er for the Town of Oakville.
