They have also staged a variety show for Canadian peacekeeprs in Israel and an Arctic Christmas Tour. In between these exotic locales, they have used their Midas Touch to transform ordiâ€" nary rooms across the country and throughout the U.S. into technical wonderlands where anything‘s possible. ‘Or at least almost anyâ€" thing as Dave Campbell recalls being asked to put a video projecâ€" tor on a barge and float the screen You name it, Dave and Dave â€" as they are known in industry cirâ€" cles â€" can lay the foundation for any one of a number of successful corporate functions or special events. "I was heavily involved in the theatre arts program(in high school)," says MacStravack who decided after graduation he wantâ€" ed to make a career in the field. Eventually, he hooked up with Campbell who had studied recording _ engineering _ at Fanshawe College and had operâ€" ated a recording studio before hitâ€" ting the road as a techie with name bands. The partnership of their two areas of expertise clicked, and garnered MacStravack and Campbell an impressive reputaâ€" tion in industry circles under the name Design Audio Visual (DAV). Not only did it expand their perimeters for potential jobs but instilled some stability in their lives. Campbell exchanged "fleaâ€" bitten" motels as a roadie with four star venues and "three good meals a day".
