Wheelchairs are more comfortable thanks to a computerized system that ow that we have a new federal government I would like to make a comment. My comment is not political or patriotic â€" it is economic. Put another way, in the long term we can not spend more than we collect. It‘s alright in the short term to overspend, but in the long term it is not. In case you do not agree with this, I will put it in specific mathematical terms. Canada owes about $60 billion. Unlike other industrial nations, a significant portion of that debt is held by foreigners. From a strictly business perspective, our great country is similar to other large organizations. It has to balance the books. If the foreign creditors feel that we are ountry‘s economic woes poorly explained ~ BUSINESS Otto Bock CEO Hans Georg Nader (left) holds one of the firm‘s highâ€"tech prosthetic arms, along with Otto Bock Canada general manager Mark Agro and U.S. division president Jack Hendrickson. allows a seating specialist to contour the seat more accurately to the patient‘s body form. However, special top of the line items, if not covered by insurance must be paid for (Photo by Riziero Vertolli) by patients themselves. Agro warns that the government plans to cut back on funding for these crucial prosthetic limbs and wheelchairs. He hopes the community will continue to support programs such as the War Amps Key Tag drive that greatly helps patients obtain these necessary products that contribute to a more productive life. The Ministry of Health pays for most common prosthetic and orthopedic items. However, special top of the line items, if not covered by insurance must be paid for mismanaging the business of operating our country then they will not renew that debt. We will end up paying a high interest rate which of course will cost us millions of dollars per day. Look at what happened to Bob Rae. He is a socialist who attempted to combat a world recession and high unemployment by Now with a huge deficit, he is running out of economic options and many think he is trying to cut costs like a ruthless capitalist. What went wrong? overâ€"spending one year. My opinion is that Bob Rae has not changed but the criteria used in the decisionâ€" making process has shifted from social dreams to economic survival. Don‘t underestimate the importance of economics. The serious flaw of this election was that not all parties articulated the economic "big picture". We all don‘t have an economic degree and our leaders should have explained the reality of continued overspending.
