%he capture of a rabid fox in T east Oakville this week has underscored the need for pet owners and other residents to keep a wary eye on any wild animals they come in contact with. The fox was captured earlier this week in the Morrison Creek area by the Oakville Humane Society and it was later determined that the animal was rabid. According to Dave Stronach, environmental health supervisor with Halton Region, there was no human contact with the fox so his department‘s involvement was peripheral. Even so, Stronach explained that rabies is always preâ€" sent in the wild and advises the pubâ€" lic not to let their guard down.
