This past summer Barrett hit the beaches with camera and sketchâ€" book in hand. The resulting oils are beautiful, summery, uplifting creâ€" ations of water babies which will grace the white walls of the quaint CC Gallery Thursday, Dec. 2nd to 5th. (Hours are Dec. 2nd, 7:30 top 9 p.m.; Dec. 3rd and 4th, 9 ;30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Dec. 5th, 1 to 5 year since 1988 â€" but her focus is now on children and older adults. Other solo _shows of Barrett‘s have been at the Oakville Town Hallâ€"Gallery and the OAS Gallery. Her work was also represented in the Juried Art Exchange show with Negawaya Japan organized by the Oakville Arts Council in the sumâ€" merâ€"of 1988 and she has been involved in numerous group shows, art auctions and artâ€"inâ€"theâ€"park shows. Although she is "scared to death" about her upcoming solo show, she is also looking forward to renewing old acquaintances and perhaps interesting a gallery in repâ€" resenting her. "I thought it was about time I do something. I was feeling a little burnt out and I wanted to promote what I really want to do which is my art."
