Once there was a young lady who lived with her father who she loved very much. One Christmas day her father went out to buy her a special present. There was a very big storm. On the street he hit a patch of ice and the car crashed. The young lady did not know until the next day. She 'qumnd:hmphlnwehafih:m:hepdue.immuflumw not survived. But before he died he told the doctors that he left something special in the car for p her The young lady was crying. She ran to the car that was all smashed up. But there in the trunk of the car was a small Christmas tree with real candles, but all the decorations on it were shattered. She was so sad that she took the tree home just as it was and never touched it since. ‘The day before Christmas there were three children playing in a forest. |(~~ p Their names were Paul, Viky and Amanda. A e They spotted an old, run down house. From behind the trees, it looked | ' like just a small house, but when they got closer, they saw it was a manâ€" || »‘ sion. The house was all dingy, with broken windows and huge wooden | 4; .. «* doors with brass door knockers They thought it was a haunted house, but | _ g then they thought â€" on Christmas "NO WAY!" â€" e â€" So Paul said "Let‘s look in the windows." The three kids ran up to the | % ~*~ | house and went around the back to find a window without curtains. Viky‘s teeth were chattering. Paul said, "Stop shaking, you‘re going to wake up the h dead. Don‘t be afraid." She answered, "I‘m not afraid, I‘m freezing. My feet are wet from the snow." P _ Amanda whispered "LOOK". Inside the room they saw an old lady sitting on a chair, staring at a Christmas tree. This was a very unusual Christmas tree.It had shattered glass ornaments, and real candles on the branches. But it was all dusty and it wasn‘t pretty at all. The lady turned around. The children ducked very quickly and ran back to the forest until they lost their breath. She said, "No." That hurt my feelings. Then I went home. I told Mom and Dad and they said to try and be friends again. So the next day I went to my friend‘s house. I knocked on the door, but nobody came. I sent a letter and it said "I am your friend." On Christmas day I called my friend and asked her if she got any presents, and she said, ‘"Yes, I got your letter." Once there was a little talking Christmas tree who was always teased and pushed by all the other Christmas trees on the farm. The little tree asked, "Why do you always tease and push me Because you are a silly looking little tree, you have no right to call yourself a Christmas tree. "Yes I do, I‘m a tree just like you," said the tree. They kept on teasing all day long. The next day, the little tree woke up decorated from top to bottomn in beautiful ornaments. "This must be Christmas Eve. I just knew it was magical," said the litâ€" Do you think she saw us?" Amanda asked. *I don‘t think so," said Paul. It was getting late. The children all went home. Amanda lived with her Grandmother. When she told her about their adventure, her Grandmother was amazed because she heard a story of the lady and the Christmas tree a long time The little tree looked around to see he was the only one decorated. The big trees were very sad and cried, "Oh please help us, we would like to be decorated like you a lot, but the farmer is going to come very soon and cut us down and sell us." Just then they heard the farmer John, and his wife, Clare, and all their children coming. When they saw how beautiful the little tree looked, they decided to decorate all the trees to see how they would look. The trees all looked too beautiful to cut and sell so they decided to keep them. So they had lots of trees and they had a Happy Christmas. After listening to the story told by her Grandmother, Amanda went to bed very tired. She was sad about that old lady in the big house. She thought that tomorrow she and her friends would take some new Christmas decorations to that lady to make her tree pretty and cheer her up. She was glad that she had a cheerful tree and her Grandmother was there for her at Christmas. Christmas...gifts, omaments, snow, a manger, a crackling fire, laughter, choirs singing and those yummy smells...turkey, cranberry sauce, apple _ Christmas Eve we go to church. Later we fall asleep dreaming about Aé_/‘\___)" what will be under the tree. Christmas morning we open presents, eat | * â€" *_*~ 4 breakfast and then head out to my Grandparents‘ house. There I see all my *~*~ i aunts, uncles and cousins. We open more presents, sing carols and eat a huge Christmas feast. Those are some traditions of my Christmas. It‘s speâ€" cial because I spend it with my family and every year we add more places |* . â€"~. at the dinner table. Which brings us back to Uncle Bob. He will be there this year with Aunt Paula and Aaron. We really didn‘t need any more people â€" there will be 31 altogether! But this is Uncle Bob‘s first Christmas with us and that will make it very special. You see, when Uncle Bob was bomn, his Mom was not married. He spent his first Christmas and every Christmas for the past 45 years with the parents that adopted him and loved him very much. He always wondered about his other mother â€" and now he‘s found her. So the traditions will continue, our family keeps getting bigger, and I can already hear Grandma calling from the kitchen, ‘"Set some more places at the table...Uncle Bob is coming for dinner!" Uncle Bob‘s coming for Christmas this year. That may not sound unusual but its taken him 45 years to arrive!
