Dec. 29, 1993 Local, accessible leisure opportuâ€" nities are important components in the quality of life for all Oakville residents. From Scottish Country Dancing to Pickâ€"up Basketball, from Brownies to Clogging, all over Oakville, sports and interest groups are alive and well. In the month of November, representatives of the Parks and Recreation Department took to their care to drop in and visit leisure focussed groups operating out of schools, in every area of Oakville. North, South, East, and West, they found active interested people, participating in activities that engage them and contribute signifiâ€" cantly to their sense of well being. When communities compare themselves to one another, they most commonly evaluate those aspects of their community that allow them to set aside the intensity and pressure of the work place for recreation. Working lives are often enhanced by skills learned in a leisure setting.
