Yes, rattan has entered the nineties on a roll, with all sorts or new uses and designs available. "Some people assume it can + only be used in certain rooms," said Campitelli recently. "They say, if only I had a sunroom or a place in Florida. I tell them it can go anywhere." Pacific Passage uses three different manufacturers, two in North Carolina and one in Miami, and thus gives customers access to a wide range of fabrics and patâ€" terns for the upholstery. Besides _ leather, the manufacturers also use ‘_such materials as wicker and wrought iron to create different looks. All styles of finish on the rattan are available, including lacâ€" quer and stain, in such colours as white, brown, black, mint green, raspberry and pine. The possibiliâ€" ties for custom orders are almost _ limitless, and Campitelli takes pride in helping the customer sort through these options to create a new look for their home. "They can really express their individuality," she said. Lots of browsers Pacific Passage tends to attract a lot of browsers â€" people who know their home could use a new, alternative look but don‘t know exactly what they want. "A lot of people come in for ideas," said Campitelli. "They see what‘s around (the Mississauga Home and Design Centre, where Pacific Passage is located) and then come in looking for something difâ€" ferent.
