Police said that shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Montclair Public School the suspect. approached a 13â€"yearâ€"old boy, produced a knife and held it to the victim‘s leg. He then demanded the boy bring firecrackers to school the next day. Not long after, the suspect accosted a 14â€"yearâ€"old classmate and escorted him to the rear of the school. He then brought out a knife, threatened the victim and demanded $20. Neither victim was injured. Both reported the incidents to their school principal who immeâ€" diately called police. After an investigation a knife was seized and charges laid. The 14 year old, who cannot be named under the Young Offenders Act, has been charged with assault with a weapon, robbery and failâ€" (See ‘Student‘ page 2) Playground extortion bid ends in arrest A man who held a woman captive in her Oakville apartment for a day has been arrested by Halton Regional Police. Oakville detectives charged the 31â€" yearâ€"old Etobicoke man after learning that the 41â€"yearâ€"old woman â€" with whom the suspect has a commonâ€"law relationship â€" had been confined. Woman held captive in her bedroom According to investigators, locks were placed on the victim‘s bedroom door. In June 1993 the suspect locked the woman in the bedroom for 15 hours. On that same day the suspect is alleged to have slapped the victim. On several occasions between June 1993 and this month the suspect is alleged to have threatened to kill the victim.
