Oakville‘s Sheridan College can boast of two faculty members whose talents made this production believable, music director John Karr and costume designer David Juby. "This program has given me the opportunity to keep on top of curâ€" rent musicals because the students are constantly bringing in new repertoire. The students are great," enthuses Karr. Discussing Fiddler on the Roof, Juby says, "Although the show is set in 1905, it almost surpasses a period because the characters may have had one new piece of apparel and the rest of their clothes were handâ€"meâ€"downs. This hard working Jewish community in Russia‘s preâ€" revolutionary period were a selfâ€" sufficient part of society, trying to keep far away from the ruling Russians."
