Today, its health care mandate is expanding to also heal the > soul. Patients in crisis and their families now have somebody they can turn to for counselling, plus reliâ€" gious, spiritual and emotional support and care. The hospital has hired its first chaplain. 4 . Catherine Thompson, a licensed and accredited chaplain with six years of training arfd practical experience, has acceptâ€" ed the part time position as Coâ€" ordinator of Pastoral Services, last November. And, this summer, the hospiâ€" tal hopes to officially open its first chapel, currently under conâ€" struction as part of the OTMH expansion. A stained glass window symâ€" bolizing life, the seasons, plus day and night, but not ‘overly religious in design, will be the main focal point.
