There will be entertainment, a sidewalk sale (starts 10 a.m.), music by local bands Spiritual Posse and Athen Rye, food, and a visit from Jake from the Lake, the furry mascot of the upcoming Oakville Waterfront Festival. "People are shocked and pleased at how clean it is down here," notes KMA treasurer Laurie Miller, manager of the Royal Bank branch at Florence Drive. "The next step is to make it more of a shopping stop versus a thoroughfare to Lakeshore Road." Before the KMA formed, she says, Kerr Street was one of the few shopping areas in town without some form of group identity. There are now about 38 members, and Miller represents the KMA on the Oakville Chamber of Commerce‘s Shop Oakville Committee. "Now that the town has made a comâ€" mitment, the merchants are doing renoâ€" vations to their stores, and taking some ownership of the problem. The second construction phase will hopefully start this summer, and we‘re already seeing the benefits of the first." The KMA is now planning promoâ€" tions for the remainder of 1994, many centred around community activities. 1UC5s0UUV, JULIC / Get ahead start on THE RING ROAD 7â€"9 p.m. restol lB’Pth?gkatdsMw s ts, E: the teens.. everyone can paricpate e Instruction by | asbaesctencetowinigreat prizes Lazy L Line _ fortutheriniomationon thERNG ROAD ROUNDUP see the Waterfront Dance CIUb Fesfil\rcal segg!t;on in The Oakville Beaver une Located at 3rd Line and Rebecca in Oakville â€" Telephone 827â€"0229 â€"9 p.m. Lazy L Line Dance Club A Community Partner in The Oakuille Waterfront Festival invites you to Shoppe 373 KERR ST.
