Bonanza participants receive the Foundation‘s unique Wood Duck Over the years, sightings of 264 bird species have been recorded in the park by staff members of Halton Region Conservation Authority. During last year‘s migration, staff members and volunteer bird banders sighted 92 species during the third annual Big Birdwatching Bonanza. Participants received pledges from people living as far away as Sarnia. The three chairpersons will be among birders from across southern Ontario who flock to the Mountsberg Wildlife Centre each spring â€" a 1,100 acre conservation area where almost every bird species that can be seen anywhere in Ontario shows up during spring or fall migration. Some of the high profile particiâ€" pants this year include Joan Little, chair of the Niagara Escarpment Commission; Brian Penman, chair of the Halton Region Conservation Authority; and Jack Arno, chair of the Halton Region Conservation Foundation.
