The village, which opened in May 1987, is sadly in need of repair. The exteâ€" rior walls of several buildings have fallen to the ground, the result of moisture workâ€" ing its way into the walls, loosening off the cement and brick. During the summer, when the school kids are off on their summer vacations instead of lining up to walk, cycle or drive electric cars through the miniature village, the first of its kind in Canada, the five Optimist clubs in Halton plan to not only raise the necessary funds, but do the necâ€" essary repairs as well. Every building needs work, everything from a minor repair to total rebuilding of the exterior walls, except one â€" the solid brick structure sponsored, and built, by Tim Hortons.
