And, he says, she can‘t walk down a runway. "She may not have been the best looking girl in her school but she‘s going to do unbelievable," grins LaRose. "Her eyes are unbeâ€" lievable. They‘re so piercing." Larose attributes his rapid sucâ€" cess to his own experience as a model, his instinct about the busiâ€" ness and his choice of models. Beautiful, voluptuous, allâ€" American is what sells in North America but LaRose sets his sights abroad searching for exotic, unusual looks. "I know what the market is," says LaRose. "We look for special and interesting girls and we don‘t take anybody on if we‘re not excited about her." He scouts high school fashion shows and all ages clubs searching for the "the next great girl", which he found in Tottenham‘s Eva Jankowski and Shannon Wright of White Oaks Secondary School who, says LaRose, is wanted by Next Models in Miami and New York. Once he focuses on a potential model, he asks the girl to have her parents call him first. Many of the girls he finds have already investâ€" ed thousands in modelling courses with no results and are skeptical of his interest.
