Oakville Little League hosting its first district championship Oakville Little League is pleased to be hosting its first district champiâ€" onship next week. The fiveâ€"team, double knock out event for the senior division (14 and 15 year olds) kicks off this Sunday (July 17) and concludes the following Sunday with the championship games. Oakville â€" which will lock horns with Ancaster, Orangeville, Fort Erie and Stoney Creek â€" sees its first action this Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be played at the recently opened Neyagawa Park. The winner moves on to the provincial championships in Ottawa from July 28 to Aug. 3 in Ottawa and if they keep winning they could very well keep on going to the Canadian championships in Cornwall from Aug. 5 to 12 and the World Little League Championship in Kissimme, Florida from Aug. 15â€"20. The 15th annual Oakville Beaver Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Royal Bank group of companies, will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Wyldewood Golf and Country Club. As in previous years, all proceeds for the tournament will go to the Oakville Trafagar Memorial Hospital. Cost for the event is $150 per player or $600 per foursome.
