Children‘s Day at Museum The Oakville Museum hosts its annual Children‘s Day Sunday, Aug. 7th between 1:30 to 4 p.m. Kids will have the opportunity to sample ice cream made in an oldâ€" fashioned ice cream maker and play games such as croquet, badminton, stilts and ring toss on the lawn of the Erchless Estate. Participants will also be able to make a pin wheel and join in the dancing fun of Dorothy Gowan and the Maple Leaf An evening of the finest in local food and entertainment, A Taste of Our Town, will be presented by the Oakville Arts Council Oct. 15th at the Oakville Centre. Preceding a performance of community groups, audience members will have the opportunity to sample a variety of offerings from Oakville‘s restaurants, wineries and the Trafalgar Brewing Co. with coffee and dessert provided by local cafes following the show. Restaurants interested in participating, should contact the OAC for more information. Proceeds from A Taste of Our Town will benefit the OAC, a charitable organization supporting artists, performers and various cultural groups in town.
