Other singles went to Lee Bekker, Mark Misiak, Mike Montano and Peter Kuchta. Robert Stein and Kevin Mcintyre shared Oakville‘s sixth shutout of the year. A much stronger effort was put in by Oakville against a much tougher Dixie side. After a scoreless first half, Dixie scored early in the second half. However, the Lighting did not quit and Lee Bekker‘s goal with ten minutes to play knotted the score at 1â€"1. Mark Misiak played an outstanding game and was denied many times by the Dixie keeper. Other great efforts were put in by Mike de Vaal, Steve Marinic, Draggy Stojkovic, Steve Barbaric, Cesco Catalano and Robert Stein. The Oakville underâ€"10 boys rep soccer team continues to roll along with a win and a tie in their last two games. Oakville Lightning scored a convincing 8â€"0 victory over Maiton while needing a late goal to tie a very stubborn Dixie side 1â€"1. The A‘s fireballing pitcher, Tim San Andres, took a one hitter into the seventh inning with 12 strikeouts under his belt before he ran into a bit of trouble, allowing a single and runâ€"scoring triple. However, he finished strong, striking out the final two Erindale batters to end the game. With the win the A‘s improved their record to eight wins and eight losses. The A‘s, trailing 1â€"0, tallied all three runs in the sixth inning on a leadâ€"off single by pitcher Tim San Andres, followed by another single by left fielder Gavin McGrath and a ringing twoâ€"RBI triple by right fielder Reneâ€"B Ramkhelawan. The final run scored on a single by short stop Adam Granlund who had two hits for the game. Another single by Shawn Riddell in the second inning rounded out Oakville‘s sixâ€"hit offense. The defence was anchored by 2B Brad Guy who was flawless in three chances, Tim San Andres who fielded two comebackers to the mound for outs and catcher Shawn Riddell who threw out one base stealer in the seventh inning. The Oakville A‘s major pee wee blue team bounced back from a tough 6â€"5 loss to the Streetsville Tigers last week to fashion a nifty 3â€"2 comeâ€"fromâ€"behind win over Erindale in Central Ontario Baseball Association action at Huron Park on Tuesday. The team is in Hamilton this weekend for the third annual Hamilton Baseball classic.
