For 143 days, he ran 42 kilometres, or 26 miles, every day, and was forced to stop on Terry Fox Run Sept. 18th $79 t§0 ‘69 per sq. ft. Sept. 1, 1980 near Thunder Bay, approximately the halfâ€"way point of his run, having completed 5,565 kilometres. The cancer which took his right leg had spread into his lungs. Fox died on June 28, 1981. His Marathon of Hope raised $24.17 million for cancer research.
